We Remember This Memorial Day
Thank you. If you are a soldier or a veteran, thank you. There are honestly not enough words to say to truly express how grateful I am for every person who has ever served our country and I know that "thank you" is not nearly enough. Today is the day we honor those who have served our country and gave their life. I thought today would be a great day to tell you the story of one of my grandfathers. Both grandfathers served in the military (WWII) and my own father was in the Reserves. My grandfather left for the war just shortly after he and my grandmother married. At some point during his service he was separated from the rest of his troop. I believe that most of them were killed. He made his way to a local barn and milked a cow for several days until he was located. His story turned out for the good, but I know that back then and even today there are families who are hurting.
If you never do it, today of all days, please stop and say a prayer for our troops and remember the lives that were lost so that we could be free! Check out this website where you can send a free email message to a soldier!

We must remember and continue to honor these sacrifices made for our country,, our families, our freedom. I wish many more would realize the significance of this.
Felicia, your grandfather's story is amazing.
