Kmart and Sears. Bargain Back to School Shopping with Style!

Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Posted by Felicia

When I was little I remember vividly shopping at Sears for back to school clothing as well as appliances with my parents. I can also remember doing the same at the local KMart. The thing is, as I have gotten older and now have my own son, it seems like they are two places I stopped frequenting. I must say, attending the Sears Design Summit has renewed my faith in the two brands! I have been and always will be a bargain shopper...but...I'm not willing to sacrifice style for the bargain! I find myself clipping coupons and waiting on sales, but with the new line and prices, you can put your scissors away!

First, I had the opportunity to try out this ADORABLE bedding from Sears. Not only is the design cute, but it is soft and durable as well. You would never believe that you could pick up such a great microfiber set for $24.99 (reg. price $34.99). It is also reversible and has matching sheets that can be purchased separately. After I had the chance to see the set, I had the opportunity to meet the designer. I must say, it is nice to actually see that the designer uses her products! Theresa A. Strickland designed this for her daughter's college dorm room! The picture shown here is an exact replica of how she set the room up. The great part, they spent under $500 on this room design using all products from Sears and KMart!
The next set I had the chance to review was the microfiber comforter set from KMart. One of the other bloggers from the summit had this to say about a set similar, "We threw out our down comforter and replaced it with this one" (Paul from The Smart Stylist. Check out his post on how to create a dorm room for under $500!) Again, this comforter is reversible (great if you are in college and hate to wash things) and has some super comfy jersey knit sheets that match (sold separately).

I am truly impressed with just how affordable and how well put together both of these brands are becoming. I will definitely be adding them to my bargain shopping list! Also, for you coupon queens, did you know KMart has been doubling coupons lately? Just another little bargain tip to check into!
