Pray for Kate McRae

Sunday, July 05, 2009 Posted by Felicia

Kate McRae is 5 years old and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Please check out this video from her parents asking for your prayer. She made it through her first surgery and is experiencing some movement on her right side! It just takes a moment to lift them up in prayer. Keep up to date on Kate's progress at her CaringBridge site. You can also check out a song that was written just for Kate by Audrey Assad that is so sweet and beautiful!

As of July 5th the family's specific prayer requests are as follows:

*Kate's urine tests will come back great
*her movement on the right side will grow stronger with each passing hour of the day
*Kate will increasingly be able to talk to us more proficiently as the day progresses (so far, very few words, just nods and gestures)
*the remaining tumor in the brain will decrease, and these cells be eliminated
*the areas of the brain where portions of the tumor were removed would heal quickly and completely
*her pain would continually decrease
*the swelling/bruising associated with Kate's surgery will not get any worse, but in fact will go away
*for the doctors/nurses/staff at Phoenix Children's Hospital to see God through this process and be amazed by Him
-that they make the proper diagnosis of the tumor
-have wisdom to develop proper treatment plan
-that they will shocked by the way God moves through Kate
*Olivia and Will have a close to normal day, and that they enjoy going to church (Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, Chandler) and being with family

So sad to hear. Children should never get sick. My thoughts and prayers go to Kate and her family.

You should get this child added to spirit jump. We send cards and gifts for children and adults with debilitating diseases to help "brighten" their days.

How terrible. Kate is beautiful little girl that should be running around playing, not in a hospital dealing with a brain tumor :(

I will keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, gosh that hit me. I have a healthy five year old, and I will be hugging him a little harder tonight...and praying for this little girl and her family.

I'm so sorry to hear! They will be in my prayers. I'd also love to post about this on my blog as well.

I was thinking on posting something about this too...
Asked my church yesterday to pray for her and her family, and I know HE hears each and every prayer.
    So sad.
