Happy Grandparent's Day!

Sunday, September 13, 2009 Posted by Felicia

Grandparent's Day was something I wasn't very familiar with until I had my own child. I am so glad to know that there is a day to honor these one of a kind people. I have so much respect for my grandparents and those who act as grandparents who are in my life or who were a part of my life at some point in time. Honestly, they have so much to teach us and a ton of wisdom that can not be matched by text books or philosophers.

This grandparents day I want to focus on Graham's grandparents. I am extremely thankful for each and everyone of them and for the special place they hold in Graham's heart. It is a blessing to see him grow up and learn to love and appreciate all of the unique things they have to offer.

Not only do they help him learn and grow, they help me out tremendously by making me feel as if I am doing a great job as a mother. I am excited for Graham to grow up with all of these spectacular people in his life. He has so much fun and learning waiting on him and he doesn't even know it!

Just in case I have any readers who are grandparents, there is a website dedicated to you! Grandparents.com has resources and breaks things down by the ages of your grand kids! Such a great idea for all those hip and with it grandma's and grandpa's!

Happy Grandparents Day to all of you and please know, I have nothing but the utmost respect for you all! Thank you for all you have done and you continue to do.

What a beautiful post!! I lost my grandparents when I was young, and my children lost both their grandfathers when they were young. They still have their grandmothers and I am gratful for that. I am a step-grandmother, and I love my grand-boy like he is my own... He is the light of my life and the sweetest little boy!
Thank you for saying such wonderful things. I hope I can be as much an inspiration to my grandchildren as yours are to Graham.
