If I ever could have dreamed of the perfect doll when I was little, I think that the new Dora Links would come close! We've all seen the silhouettes crossing our television screens for quite some time now and she is finally here. The brand new Dora Links doll by Mattel is going to be at the top of every little girls Christmas wish list this season.

I had the opportunity to take the new Dora Links for a test drive. It was extremely easy to get started. Simply pull out the included disc and insert it into your computer. The program will start an automatic download which did take several minutes with my computer. Once the program is installed, you can set up your child's account information so that all of her game play is saved. When you are prompted, you can hook the usb cord into Dora Links (on her left side below the reset button) and then hook it into your computer.





Once everything was set up it was immediately ready for play! I was amazed at all the different options. Your child will be able to interact with Dora and her friends in a virtual world. The really cool part is that the actual Dora Links doll interacts as well! She will talk and respond to what is going on in the online world (her mouth does not move). There are different mysteries that Dora needs to solve that promote pro-social themes like: water conservation, volunteering, and planting trees. New mysteries will be uploaded to DoraLinks.com on a regular basis so there will always be something new around the corner. Of course, Dora Links still promotes bilingual learning, as her language is a mix of Spanish and English.

Dora Links also changes her appearance with a click of a mouse! When Dora is connected to the computer your child can change her hair length, eye color, jewelry color and much more! It truly is a magical experience watching the doll become what is being played on the screen. The first time I changed her eye color I had to call my husband over to see because I was blown away! Even he wanted me to change it one more time to see the transformation.

There are also accessories and other dolls in the collection. There are four more friends of Dora's that are available, Puerto Verde School, and fashion packs. Each item includes a special online code that girls can use to unlock new areas on the online world.

Dora Links is now being sold at Walmart, Toys R Us, Target, and Amazon to name a few. She currently retails for $59.99 and her accessories range in prices from $7.99-$34.99. What a wonderful Christmas gift idea!
