Kellogg's Now has more FIBER!
Fiber. It is so important, but most of us do not get enough. I was reminded of this when one of my friends who is a nurse in the heart wing of our hospital started talking about the number of people she sees who are getting younger and younger who have had heart attacks. Getting enough fiber is one of the ways we can help combat things like heart attacks and other health related issues. It is recommended that we have about 20 to 35 grams of fiber per day. Most of us consume about half of that. You can find fiber in things like vegetables, oatmeal, beans, and berries. Now Kellog's is doing their part. They have added 3 grams of whole grain per serving to two popular kids cereals: Apple Jacks and Fruit Loops. Fruit Loops have been a long time fan favorite around here. It is good to know that now I can buy it with more confidence than before.
We were sent samples of both Apple Jacks and Fruit Loops with the fiber added to try out and I can tell you there is NO difference in the taste. NONE. I didn't tell my husband about the little experiment and let him consume the regular box first and then he moved onto the box with fiber. While he was eating his cereal I asked him if he noticed a difference. He look confused and then I explained. He said, "They taste exactly the same." GREAT NEWS!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kellogg’s and received boxes of Froot Loops and Apple Jacks and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.
