Sprout Organic Baby Food. Easy & Yummy!

Sprout Organic Baby Food. Easy & Yummy!

When our family arrived home after being in Florida for two weeks, there was assuredly NO baby food to be had in the house. As a mom who has made all of my 12-month old daughter's baby food since she started solids, the lack of food in our house was a more-than-minor dilemma.

It was perfect timing, then, for us to find a box from Sprout Organic Baby Food sitting on our doorstep (we live in an apartment building so it wasn't roasting outside--don't worry!).

On a given day, my daughter typically eats organic oatmeal (oats + banana + almond butter) for breakfast, finger food (peas + avocado + cheese + Lara bars) for lunch, and organic green mush (avocado, + spinach + broccoli + whole sprouted grains) for dinner. Since she is still being spoon-fed twice a day, the Sprout food is very similar to her normal diet.

Sprout Baby Food comes in two types--Stage 1 (6 months and older) and Stage 2 (7 months and older). They take into account how thick or smooth the texture should be and what a baby can and cannot eat at certain ages. Then Sprout takes those key {organic} whole foods, adds yummy seasonings to it, and packages it in an easy pouch that is perfect for taking on the go (no more glass jars that need to be recycled or could break in your diaper bag!).

Before Catherine even started eating their baby food I knew I'd love giving it to her--basically it was like feeding her homemade organic baby food without the hassle of cooking and preparing it! I love that it is organic, easy to serve, and tasty, too!

I chose two packages for Catherine (Sweet Potatoes + White Beans and Roasted Pears) and started feeding her. She loved every bite of the sweet potato puree and devoured the pears. The pears were expectantly "liquidy" as they are designed for new eaters but the sweet potatoes were the perfect consistency that C is used to consuming!

This morning, I was in a hurry and didn't have time to make her oatmeal mush so I fed her these yummy fruit blends (she devoured them!):

Sprout Baby Food prides itself on the flavor of their foods. While still not as flavorful as homemade baby food, Sprout's food is heads and shoulders above other packaged organic baby food that I've sampled. With recipes concocted by celebrity chef Tyler Florence, Sprout Baby Food retains more of the fruit and vegetable flavor because of the way it is cooked (caramelized or browned) and because everything is made in small batches.

The pouches contain 3.5 ounces of food and are resealable so you can place them in the fridge for three days. They also have their expiration or "best by" date conveniently located on the back of the package:

You can find them in many locations but I've found mine at my local Publix, right next to all the other baby food jars:

While I still love feeding my daughter my own organic baby food recipes, it is so nice to know that Sprout Baby Food is a healthy organic option and readily available at my local grocery store! We're headed for another vacation tomorrow and I will definitely be stocking up on pouches for our trip!

The Bumbleride Indie Stroller

The Bumbleride Indie Stroller

I am in love with a new stroller! It is not only beautiful to look at, but it is functional and easy for me to use! Let me introduce you to our new orange friend....the Bumbleride Indie!

My husband has made a new commitment to health lately which has been great for all of us. It has encouraged me to get back out and jogging. The problem is, it is so much harder to do when you have a 2 year old! The Indie has made it so much simpler for us to pick up and head to the track. Now, this stroller is defined as an all terrain stroller not a jogging stroller, but, that is what we use it for and it works great! If you are a loyal reader you know that I am a tightwad and like to spend my money wisely. For my needs, it is really a better bargain to go with a stroller that is multi-functional (meaning not just strictly for jogging). Again, this is not a jogging stroller, but it works wonderfully for the light jogging (short distances for short periods of time) that I do on the track.

Here's what I love about the Bumbleride Indie:
  • All Terrain
  • 360 degrees swiveling front wheel that locks forwards or rear facing
  • Great for newborns and toddlers
  • 5 point harness with quick release
  • Multi-adjustable reclining backrest
  • Rear suspension (smooth ride)
  • Height adjustable handle
  • LIGHT! Weighs only 20 pounds!
  • Large storage basket underneath
  • Folds VERY compact easily (thank you Bumbleride.. my number one must in a stroller)
  • Zip-off canopy (lots of sun coverage)
  • Fits with my Graco Snugride infant car seat! (no more money to spend...it also fits with several others)
  • Comes in 5 different fun color options
When Bumbleride first sent the Indie, I was surprised at how light it was even in the box. My number one must have for any stroller is that it is light weight and folds compactly. I was able to pick this up off of the porch in the box by myself with NO trouble. The set up was quick and easy and the color (Spice) is extremely vibrant and fun! It folds down small enough for me to still fit groceries in the back of my Subaru Outback.

See it in Action:

The next thing that impressed me about this stroller was it's ability to lock either forward or rear facing. Of course, the front wheel has a 360 degree swivel that allows you to maneuver through tight spaces easily, but when you want to jog or speed walk, the lock is perfect! Graham is completely comfortable and loves it when we go fast! I also love how quick and easy the 5 point harness system is. I have some other strollers that always catch my fingers in the snaps as well as take forever to buckle! I don't know about you, but my toddler would like to go sooner rather than later and the longer we mess around with the buckles, the more likely he is going to want out!

The Indie comes standard with a rain cover, air pump, jogging strap, cup holder, headrest and shoulder pads, and infant seat adapter bar and safety belt. The Indie retails for $459.99 and can be used with several different infant car seat brands.

GloDoodle. Works both Day and Night!

GloDoodle. Works both Day and Night!

What kid doesn't like to doodle and draw? Pair that with the fact that their drawings can glow and they will be thrilled!

We were sent the GloDoodle to check out and it is definitely on my list of what to buy for birthdays and Christmas. What a fun way to be creative! The GloDoodle works in either a lighted room or a dark one. You can create your drawings with the vibrant light by using either your finger or the stylus that is included. There are 3 different light colors to draw with: green, yellow, and red.

The best part of GloDoodle is the fact that the only thing you will ever need to replace are the batteries. You don't need to buy any extras for this to work or be fun. As a matter of fact, GloDoodle even provides free printable tracing pages on their website! Because it has a transparent backing, you can lay a picture underneath and trace it. This is actually how I learned to draw when I was little, by tracing. Most kids think it is fun to be able to "draw" something they couldn't on their own. When you are finished with your drawing you simply press the button at the top to clear the screen and then start over.

See it in Action:

GloDoodle is also an inexpensive gift for the economy we are in today. Because of its size, GloDoodle would be an inexpensive way to entertain your kids on road trips as well. It could easily be packed up and taken along for the trip. You can purchase the GloDoodle at WalMart for $19.97.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Brandonsmom!

Help for Quick School Lunches!

Help for Quick School Lunches!

lunchables sub Pictures, Images and Photos
Because I work in the school system I generally have to be out the door by 7am every morning. When you think about the fact that this means I will need to shower, dress, get breakfast, wake a toddler, dress him, and get his bag together for Nana's house without waking up at the crack of dawn it leaves little time for anything else! I usually try to prepare as much as I can the night before, but sometimes it is just impossible when you are talking about food.

One great idea that I used even when I was going to school was Lunchables. Every once in a while these would come in handy when you just didn't have time to prepare the night before or in the morning. Here's the deal, Lunchables are now VERY different from what they used to be! Mom Central introduced me to the all new Lunchables which boasts spring water, sub sandwich, turkey made with 100% turkey breast, whole grain bread, 2% Kraft cheddar, applesauce, and a light dessert like Chewy Chips Ahoy or Mini Nilla Wafers! This is not just great for back to school, it is also a great lunch for an adult I might add!

There are six new varieties to try that include: Turkey and Cheddar Sub Sandwich, Ham and American Sub Sandwich, Turkey and Cheddar Cracker Combos, Ham and American Cracker Combos, Deep Dish Cheese Pizza and Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza. The Turkey Sub and Deep dish Pizza meet the Sensible Solutions criteria at Kraft Foods.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central on behalf of Oscar Mayer Lunchables and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

What are some of your time saving tips when preparing meals for back to school?

Note Card Girl. Chic Note Cards, Invites, and More!

Note Card Girl. Chic Note Cards, Invites, and More!

If you are looking for a cute place to pick up some announcements, invitations, note cards, or personalized stationary check out Note Card Girl. You can purchase items the way they are listed or she can customize them to meet your individual needs.

Carrie is the owner and operator of Note Card Girl which is a Carrie's Kiddie Closet Company. She sent me some very cute business cards for Go Graham Go that she came up with herself! All I had to do was send her the graphic of the cartoon Graham and she did the rest! She was wonderful to work with and even sent me choices of two different proofs. I like options!

Check out her adorable stick figure stationary and items. They would be great for putting in lunches, putting with gifts or just for fun! Note Card Girl also has Mommy Cards. It took me a while to figure out what these were for, but you could use them to give your info out when you meet people at story time at the library or things of that nature. Maybe you are a stay at home mom that is trying to connect with other mothers, this is much simpler than trying to locate a pen and scrap paper to write down your number for another mom. Not to mention, they are cute!

Shoes You Can Use!

Shoes You Can Use!

I have a little confession to make: when we first ordered Catherine's shoes from FunkyBaby they were the wrong size. The fabulous people behind FunkyBaby didn't want us to be left without shoes we could use so they sent us a pair of their choice. We were so surprised and excited when these very cute shoes arrived in no time flat--

We received them a day before heading to Florida so we took them with us on our trip. My fashionista mother and twin sister accompanied us on our journey, too, and they went gaga for these shoes immediately! Now, that is saying something as both my mom and sister are very fashionable and choosy when it comes to attire.

My sister's daughter liked the shoes so much that she made off with them and carried them around for days, constantly trying to put them on her own feet. In fact, it was so funny to watch her with the shoes that my sister took a video of her daughter with them:

We are now finally home from Florida and Catherine has the shoes all to herself! We love them and they are perfect for walking around town in and showing off her new walking skills! I hope you'll check out the other cute FunkyBaby shoes and products that they sell--you won't be disappointed in their selection!

Tony the Tractor by Haba Toys.

Tony the Tractor by Haba Toys.

When looking for birthday gift ideas you can never go wrong with a company that has been around over 60 years. Haba toys prides itself in being environmentally friendly, by foresting trees, using water based lacquer, and installing solar powered facilities to name a few. They even give extra scraps and sawdust out to local community members to help them heat their homes. Haba is clearly doing great things and it shows in the quality of their product.

We were sent Tony the Tractor to review recently and Graham has kept him close by at all times lately. This adorable red tractor with blue wheels is made from beechwood and comes complete with a driver (non-removable). To make Tony the Tractor even more fun, there is a trailer attached that pulls a rattling barrel that can be removed. The wheels are designed in such a way that when it is pushed, it bobs up and down.

Graham has fun taking the barrel on and off and pretending the tractor is picking up hay. We have carpeted floors and he can get Tony going pretty fast as well! It is fun to watch your children use their imaginations and even more fun knowing you have given them a product that is safe and will stand up to a toddlers rough play. Graham has been known to toss Tony the Tractor across our kitchen floor! Thankfully, Tony is still intact and going strong!

Some of my favorite products from Haba are the Discovery Blocks. They are unique in design with their bright colors and fun shapes. Blocks are so universal and loved by all children. These would also be a great idea for a birthday gift! There are also some precious room decor ideas that would be great for decorating a nursery or your big kid's room! One of my favorites is the Buccaneer's Crate Play Trunk! Find a location that sells Haba Toys near you.

Mighty World from International Playthings.

Mighty World from International Playthings.

Graham is down right obsessed with construction equipment. He actually gasps when we pass construction equipment on the road! A fun day for Graham is to visit the local Kubota dealership if that gives you any idea of his obsession. When I saw the Mighty World Construction Set by International Playthings I knew it would be right up his alley!

When we were sent the set for review I was completely astounded by the details included! It is intended for age 4 so there are some pieces that we are putting away until he is a little older. I love the fact that this Construction Set is very realistic. Even the construction men bend and move so that they can operate the equipment, carry various accessories, or climb ladders. There are 70 accessories including 6 construction workers, construction truck, flatbed trailer, Bobcat, cement mixer, scaffold, cinder blocks and more!

There are so many ways to mix things up with this set that your little one could be busy for hours! The details are planned all the way down to thermoses for lunch for the guys. The Construction Truck can be reconfigured to raise the height and there are endless possibilities for the scaffolding and blocks. This complete set retails for $79.99. With 70 accessories that include operating equipment, this is a steal!

The Light and Sound Fire Truck also looks like a dream come true for kids. It features 8 compartment doors, 2 cab doors, and a hood that open. It also comes with a fire fighter figure, rescue basket, hoses, fire extinguishers, ax, flashlight, and the accessories for raising the suspension on the truck. It retails for $41.99.

Kidorable. So Cute You'll Cry.

Kidorable. So Cute You'll Cry.

I am a sucker for clothing and accessories that are unique and stand out. What mom isn't really. I am so excited to introduce you all to Kidorable. If you haven't already seen them, you really must check out what they've got going on! They've even been featured on the Today Show.

We were sent the Frog Rain Coat, Boots, and Umbrella. I'm not kidding, when I opened the box I cried because they are so sweet! We actually got them just in time as well. As soon as I opened the box and took it up to my mother's house to show it off, and a down pour came! Graham had the chance to try it all out right then and there. He is in LOVE with his boots especially! He immediately started showing them off and went searching for the pockets on his rain coat. Once I opened the umbrella he had a new best friend! Later that day we went out to eat and he of course was still wearing his rain boots, and we got at least 5 different compliments on them.

The Rain Coat is PVC with a polyester lining and comes with a matching wooden hanger! The precious frog on the front is also a zippered pocket, is 3 dimensional, and even has a mouth that opens. There is beautiful red trim around the hood and sleeves and it has a snap button closure to make it easier for little slippery hands. There is a second pocket on the other side that has no zipper.

The boots are easy to slip on and off and run pretty true to size. They are made from natural rubber and attract a ton of attention! Pair these with the eye catching umbrella and you have the perfect gift! The umbrella is child sized and 100% nylon.

Kidorable has so many different adorable styles to choose from. One of my favorites for little girls is the Lucky Cat! They have Firemen, Dinosaurs, Bees, Mermaids, Pirates and more!

Wordless Wednesday: Birthday Bliss...

Since we are talking about birthdays this week, I thought it only fit to share with you one of my favorites of my grandmother taken last year at her 85th birthday. She got a golf cart! She turned 86 this month.

Tier Toys. More than just a stacking toy.

Tier Toys. More than just a stacking toy.

Talk about innovative! Tier Toys is the product of 9 years of research and has come up with an idea that we think is extraordinary! These learning puzzles are also fun toy sets that open up a world of imaginative ideas.

We were sent the Noah's Ark set and have been overly impressed by the design and construction. At first glance, this is just another play set with figures inside, but upon closer examination, you will see what makes this toy stand out from the rest. The multi-purpose Ark can be used as a shape sorter, puzzle, storage case, and play set. The Ark is composed of 12 different layers that store each animal in a specific location (at least 2 per layer). The molds for the animals' shapes have been cut out in the different layers and labeled with the appropriate names. There are 44 figures including two of each animal as well as Noah and his wife. Because this toy was designed in Australia, it is only appropriate that one of the sets of animals included are kangaroos!

Parents will love the fact that as your child is playing they are cleaning at the same time. Because there is a set place for every figure, clutter is taken care of! The details of the figures are fabulous with their primary colors making them stand out. It seems like every detail has been thought of from the ramps that raise and lower, to the slots for the giraffes to peek their heads out! Graham can have fun playing with the animals on the Ark as well as sorting and stacking the different pieces. This product has already won several awards and was named the Creative Child Magazine's Toy of the Year!

See it in Action:

Be on the lookout for a few more options in the fall. I am excited to check out the six additional stackers including a barn, monster truck, and castle once they are available. Noah's Ark retails for about $49.99 and can be purchased at Amazon and coming soon, online at Toys R Us.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Elissa!

Paperspring. Beautiful Invites, Announcements and More.

Paperspring. Beautiful Invites, Announcements and More.

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Paperspring. Paperspring was launched in 2008 by the commercial printing company, Charlie Chan Printing. Ever since they opened their doors, customers have been treated to their fabulous green philosophy, extremely high quality products, incredibly speedy (and free!) processing and shipping time, and, best of all, their unparalleled customer service.

Here is what I loved about Paperspring

They're Green: Paperspring was certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as a chain-of-custody provider of recycled paper made from environmentally sustainable forests. Their matte cards are printed on recycled cardstock and they use chemistry-free and waterless printing processes in their operation! Impressive!

They're Beautiful (their products, that is): I was blown away by the quality of the products they sent me. I ordered stationery for Catherine (who cares if she can't write yet!) and they are gorgeous. The feel of the paper is crisp and not flimsy and the artwork is so cute (for the kids) and sophisticated (for the adults)!

Paperspring has so many options when it comes to personal stationery, birthday party invitations, and even wedding invitations. I wish they were around when I got married because their work and designs are stunning.

Paperspring also sent me some samples of prior work that they've done for other customers. Talk about amazing! Joel and I always send out Christmas cards with photos every year. Never before have I seen such great quality pictures printed on paper. I had to show everyone in Florida (my mom, twin, grandma, aunts, etc.) how incredible they looked because really, my words can't do it justice!

Here are a few of their examples (keep in mind that they look even better in person!)

They're FAST: I couldn't believe how quickly I received my order after it was finalized. If you need something fast Paperspring is for you--their normal processing and shipping time is so fast that it makes "rush orders" on other sites look slow!

Part of why they are fast is because all of the products you order from Paperspring are printed in-house. You might not think that is a big deal but it is. In-house printing ensures that you are getting the best quality and that it will be RIGHT everytime! No third parties to deal with!

They're Nice: When I sent in a photo for one of the products I ordered, one of their customer service agents contacted me to let me know that the picture was a poor resolution. I was so happy that they took the time to proof it and then contact me. She worked with me until we got a better size and print and the whole time she was nothing but kind and helpful. I was further impressed when I received a personalized note from the customer service representative in my package! That is practically unheard of in today's business world and it spoke volumes to me!

They're Fun: I mentioned that they had tons of products but one of my favorites is their StickyStock paper. I had to order it and try it out! It is so fun to play with. My photos don't do it justice but their cool video does--make sure you watch it to see how neat this product is!

They also have DNA (digital name art) to make your business or name stand out! They sent me personalized stationery that was so fun (but, in the interest of remaining slightly anonymous, here are some examples from their site):

To add to the fun, you can type in your name or business and instantly see how it would appear in print.

Paperspring is a great option for all your paper needs! You can guarantee we'll be using them for our Holiday cards and maybe even future party invites!
