Out of Office Blog for Creative Projects!
I could honestly google all day long and surf blogs for crafts! I think that is where I get into trouble sometimes when I am on the Internet and several hours pass. Believe it or not, FedEx has come out with a pretty creative blog of their own for project ideas!
Mom Central introduced me to their brand new blog called Out of Office and I have been browsing for a while now. I love their ideas for what to do with your left over wrapping paper. Of course, we always save the rolls for next Christmas, but there always manages to be some scraps of paper left over that you don't want to throw away, but you also don't want laying around. I love the tips they offer! I never even thought about making it into drawer liners or place mats!
I also love their inexpensive gift idea for the person who has everything. A Family Cookbook! They suggest having everyone from the family submitting their favorite recipes to create your own gem. This would not only be helpful in the kitchen, but it would definitely become a family heirloom.
So, if you are looking for another craft or budget friendly website, check out the Out of Office Blog from FedEx. I'm looking forward to what else they have to share.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of FedEx Office. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Make Your Own Brown Sugar Scrub!
Christmas is over, but there may still be a few people on your list that you haven't seen yet. Maybe you are like me and you like to have a few back up gifts on hand just in case someone shows up unexpectedly. If you are an avid Go Graham Go reader you already know that I like to find great deals or make my own things (I love crafts)! When C&H Sugar contacted me about their great gift idea website and asked me to try it out I was thrilled! They have some cute ideas and who doesn't love sugar? Besides, with the winter weather around here, we all have our fair share of dry skin.

I thought the Sugar Scrub was a great idea for a cheap, yet cute gift. Most of the materials you will probably already have on hand for this project which is a huge bonus! I adjusted this recipe a little in order to make it a bit more cost effective.
Ingredients:
Combine all ingredients using a spatula in a large bowl until well blended. Mix should have a paste like texture. If it is too dry add more oil a few drops at a time. Conversely, if it is too oily add more dry ingredients until you reach the desired consistency. Keep stored in tightly sealed jars. May need to mix before use if ingredients settle.
When you are finished you can use these printable gift tags from C&H Sugar made especially for the Sugar Scrubs or print your own like I did.
A $20 gift card was provided by C&H Sugar to cover my expenses on this project. These are my honest opinions. I do not post reviews on anything I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of ground oatmeal (use a blender)
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup of olive oil (calls for 1/4 cup of almond oil, but olive oil is more readily available and cheaper. It is also great for your skin)
- 1 tsp of Vanilla extract
- Small containers with lids and ribbons for decoration

Wordless Wednesday: Christmas!
We had Christmas Eve with my family. Graham received a tool kit from my parents. He immediately put on the goggles and commenced swimming. He has never gotten out of his bed on his own free will and so my husband and I were preparing breakfast when he entered the living room Christmas morning. We heard, "Oh my goodness!" and walked in to find him with his hands covering his mouth. Oh, and Graham now has a new found love for PEZ.

Wendy's New $.99 Spicy Chicken Nuggets!
We try not to make it a point to frequent fast food in this household for many different reasons. One is the health factor and the other is the money factor. When we do make the choice to eat fast food we try to find reasonable options with good prices. Wendy's is one place we will stop when we are on the road or need to grab something quick because of the prices.
Wendy's now has a new item for you to try out that is only $.99! It's their new Spicy Chicken Nuggets and they are delicious if you like a little kick to your chicken. The mom in me likes the fact that they are made from real, all white breast meat chicken. The foodie in me likes the new twist on the bread which is made from spices like red pepper, chili pepper, turmeric, paprika and ground mustard seed. It is coated with Japanese style bread crumbs as well.
So, if you find yourself out and in need of something quick and cheap I say give these new Spicy Chicken Nuggets a try. What do you have to lose at $.99!?
A $5 gift card was provided free of charge by Wendy's so that I could sample the product. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Affresh Dishwasher Cleaner. Because we don't always do the dishes on time!
"Make SURE you pick up some dish washing detergent on your way home. Graham won't even come in the kitchen it smells so bad," these are the words I heard from my husband a couple of weeks ago as I was leaving work.

We are usually pretty good about getting our dishes washed soon after we load them in the dishwasher, but that's not always the case. This instance, we had forgotten to pick up detergent at the store and several days had passed! Eeeww! I was glad that I had some of the Affresh Dishwasher & Disposal Cleaner on hand! We cleaned the dishes and then ran the Affresh Dishwasher cleaner right after. That was about a month ago and I can still smell the fresh clean smell that it left when I open the dishwasher!
Affresh can be a great idea if you have lingering food particles stuck inside your dishwasher. Inevitably, there are going to be bits of food that get stuck in the hose or the grinding mechanism in your disposal system. Affresh gets rid of the odor and even helps it to stay away! Just run a cycle once a month.
You can pick up the Affresh products at a store near you.
This product was provided free of charge by Whirlpool. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Creamy Potato Soup to Warm You Up!
Looking for an easy Potato Soup in the crock pot recipe (sorry, I am all about the crock pot lately)? I printed this recipe off and my husband actually whipped it up for us. It was DELICIOUS! I love it when you can just dump a bunch of ingredients in the pot and have a wonderful, filling meal!
* 6 slices bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed chicken broth
* 2 cups water
* 5 large potatoes, diced
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
* 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 2 cups half-and-half cream
* 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
Directions:
1. Place bacon and onion in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until bacon is evenly brown and onions are soft. Drain off excess grease.
2. Transfer the bacon and onion to a slow cooker, and stir in chicken broth, water, potatoes, salt, dill weed, and white pepper. Cover, and cook on Low 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and half-and-half. Stir into the soup along with the evaporated milk. Cover, and cook another 30 minutes before serving.

Happy Birthday, Jesus! The Biggest Birthday Party Ever.

This Christmas morning we did a little something different. Graham is at the age where he is starting to get Christmas and some of the meanings behind it. He has known since the beginning of December that we would be counting down the days to when Jesus was born with our countdown calendar and we have been reading simple stories to him that talk about the birth of Christ.
We were sent the Happy Birthday, Jesus! Celebration Kit by Dayspring. The kit features the Really Woolly characters and has everything you need to throw a birthday party. The Happy Birthday, Jesus! Celebration Kit includes:

- 9 Online Event Access Tickets
- 1 Scripture-Based Celebration Guidebook
- 3 Candles
- 8 Plates
- 8 Napkins
- 8 Noisemakers
- 6 Balloons
- 1 Banner

There are enough supplies for 8 kids to join in on the party! This would be a creative and meaningful way to host a kids Christmas party. What makes this kit special is that the Online Event Access Tickets are for actual LIVE events that are happening online! You would need to plan your party so that you could access one of the events on time. A real person online leads you and your kids through interactive lessons and activities that will help reinforce the meaning of what you are doing. Kids will be surprised to have their actual name called out from a person they can see on the computer. There is also a guide book included that offers loads of creative party ideas. There are even fun printables and resources provided online.

We decided to decorate our dinning room and have birthday waffles Christmas morning. I made the waffles and a special little powdered sugar icing that my mother used to make for the tops. We placed the candles in the middle of one and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus! Then we had fun blowing our noisemakers for Jesus! It was so much fun because when Graham woke up we asked him what day it was and he said, "Jesus's Birthday!" He immediately started singing Happy Birthday to Jesus without prompting.

We had such a blast that I think we will make this an annual Christmas morning tradition. You can purchase the kit online right now for only $5! Go ahead and grab one for next Christmas while it is discounted!
This product was provided free of charge by Dayspring. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Flip Along Fun Book! Mix and Match Learning Book.
What if you could find a book that was more than a book? What if there was a book that combined numbers, rhymes, colors, animals, sequencing, matching, addition, beginning/middle/end and offered your child a jump start on school? If you are like me, you would be extremely impressed! Well, that is exactly what Flip Along Fun is! It is an impressive, interactive, and extremely well thought out book for children ages 2-6.

Michael J. Dowling and Sarah Buell Dowling are the husband and wife team behind this smart book for kids! Michael wrote the book and Sarah illustrated it. You and your children are going to love the bright and cheery illustrations! I actually had the opportunity to speak with Michael on the phone and it was exciting to hear the passion in his voice about this book. You could definitely tell that it was a labor of love. I don't know about you, but as a mom it makes me feel that much better about giving my child the product.

Flip Along Fun works by using 3 panels. Your child chooses a panel from the left to start with. Next they choose a middle panel. The third step is to choose the panel on the right that matches the first two. You can see how easy it is for your child to learn matching and even addition without even realizing it! Flip Along Fun has a nice rhyming feel and you are sure to have several matching opportunities to provide hours of fun with your child. I am a big fan of anything that gets parents and children interacting. Flip Along Fun is great at connecting and providing an activity that the whole family can be involved in. The large size of the book makes this wonderful for story times or circle groups as well.
If you are looking for a great gift idea, Flip Along Fun should be at the top of your list! I am sure that it will not be a repeat gift and parents are going to thank you! You can purchase the book at FlipAlongFun.com for $17.95 with $5 shipping. If you ask me, that is a really great deal on a quality, substantial book that is going to provide a ton of learning and entertainment.
This product was provided free of charge by Michael Dowling. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Simplify Your Life! HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje Review and Giveaway Info {Comment for a chance to Win!}
I thought I was going to pass out as I rounded the corner to my terminal in the Atlanta airport. When my flight from Boston was delayed I was a little nervous about making the connecting flight in Atlanta on time. My worst fears were confirmed when we landed with literally 3 minutes for me to reach a terminal on the opposite side of the airport. As I ran as fast as I could, my laptop (which was across my shoulder in the laptop bag) kept slapping the side of my hip. By the time I finally reached my terminal it was almost too late! I had a sore hip bone, was out of breath, almost fell down the flight of stairs to the runway, and wanted to cry.You don't need me to tell you how busy and chaotic life can be. If you are a mother, you are well aware of how much one day can hold. Moms are not only responsible for their kids, but many mothers have the added responsibility of holding down a job, toting kids from school to after school practice to tutoring, church or other volunteer respnosibilities, not to mention taking care of a household and hopefully getting some sort of nutritious dinner on the table. If you are a mom blogger, you might as well just throw in another full time job on top of all of that!
The Mom Bloggers Club is asking mom bloggers to step back and take a look at what they can do to Simplify Life and why that might be important. Organization is definitely key! Another plus is having the right tools. If you are like me, you just can't be stuck behind a desk top all day and sometimes your lap top is much to big to just grab and hit the road with. That's where a netbook comes into play and you can win one from the Mom Bloggers Club just for blogging about how and why you should simplify your life.

I was sent the HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje to review and thoroughly enjoy the versatility and style it provides. First of all, this netbook is unlike any other you have seen. Because it was designed by Studio Tord Boontje, it has a one of a kind design that features 3D endangered animals overlaying a gorgeous flower and lace design. It is actually a brand new process called "HP Imprint 3D." Even certain visual settings contain the design ("loading bar," screen saver, wallpaper, and more). You can find Tord Boontje's work from the museums in London to your local Target store, bringing sophisticated art work into the average consumers home. Green mamas will love the fact that this computer has a 10.1 inch mercury free LED backlit display for increased efficiency. The packaging and user's guide are created with 100% recycled materials and soy-based ink. The price tag of this netbook is also nice! Prices start as low as $399.99 and there are several different corresponding products you can purchase to add on (like the Wireless Mouse that has the matching pattern for $39.99).

I can not tell you how many times in the past this would've come in handy! It definitely would've saved my sore hip and quickness in the Atlanta airport that Friday evening! Also, whenever I am out somewhere with my full sized laptop, it is incredibly inconvenient. I have to carry the laptop bag as well as the power plug and the computer. My laptop weighs about 7 lbs and the HP Mini weighs only a little over 2lbs making it super easy to pick up and run with! It is only a little over an inch wide which makes it easy to slip into my purse. The Studio Tord Boontje also comes with its very own slip cover that boasts some of the elegant design from the computer. The HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje is perfect for trips and could easily be toted anywhere! If you travel by plane frequently, you can eliminate one of your carry on bags by putting this in your purse. It is also an excellent conversation piece when you are out and about!
See it in Action:
The HP Mini has a built in web cam that will come in handy when I want to see my sweet little boy when I am far away from home! No more lugging around a separate web cam to use Skype when I am away. There are also two different battery options to choose from. The 3 cell battery will provide about 2 hours and the 6 cell will provide up to about 5 hours of work time. Another great piece that helps make life simpler is the HP QuickWeb which allows you to have access to the internet and quick links to your most used social networking sites and email without booting up the Windows Operating System. It really does make it a lot quicker to hop on the web without waiting for everything to load when you are in a pinch for time.

Keep in mind, the HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje is a travel computer. It offers many of the same aspects of a full sized laptop, but is meant more for portability. Here are a few of the important specs you are going to want to know about:
- Simplified daily PC activities with genuine Windows 7 Starter
- Easy Internet1 access to e-mail, instant messaging, video chat, social networking, shopping, banking, research, and more
- An Intel Atom processor for reliable, energy-efficient performance
- 1GB of system memory and hard drive options of 160GB or 250GB, or 32GB Solid State
- A nearly full size (92%) keyboard for comfortable typing
- Transfer of data to and from other devices via three USB ports
- Integrated HP QuickSync software, which lets you synch files, photos, and videos with your primary PC when connected to the same network
Win Your Own! Visit the Mom Bloggers Club Simplify My Life Sweepstakes to get the scoop! Go Graham Go readers even have a chance to be randomly selected just by commenting on this post! This one is a lot of fun!

Move Me Closer to the Child...
"And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." Luke 2:12

Twas the night before Christmas,
And my only desire
Was peace among kids, and to rest by the fire.
I had just settled down in my favorite chair;
When I heard a small voice, and a cry of despair.
As I stared at the hearth I saw a strange sight!
Our nativity scene, in the flickering light
Seemed almost alive!
And how could this be!
One lonely shepherd was calling to me.
***
Move me closer, move me closer
Move me closer to the Child.
Let me see Him, let me hold His hand.
Move me closer to the Child.
***
As you can well imagine, I was a bit surprised.
So with a shake of the head and a rub of the eyes
I took another look, and what did I see,
Without a doubt he was looking at me.
It seems in the hustle and bustle of things
In the wrapping of gifts, and the building of swings,
In assembling his scene, I'd been a bit hurried,
And understandably so, He was a little bit worried.
***
Move me closer, move me closer
Move me closer to the Child.
Let me see Him, let me hold His hand.
Move me closer to the Child.
***
You see, candy canes and holly trim
Didn't mean a thing to him.
If it kept him from his post
Beside the child he loved the most.
So as strange as it must seem,
Whether it was, or wasn't, a dream.
I placed him back where he belonged
As he sang again his simple song.
And now when we at Christmas share,
We sing his song:
A Shepherd's Prayer.
***
Move me closer, move me closer
Move me closer to the Child.
Let me see Him, let me hold His hand.
Move me closer to the Child.
Move me closer to the Child.

This Christmas I am reminded of an old song by Evie called A Shepherd's Prayer. If you aren't familiar it is about a shepherd boy in the nativity scene who wants nothing more than to be moved closer to the Christ child. Here are the sweet lyrics in case you aren't familiar:

Twas the night before Christmas,
And my only desire
Was peace among kids, and to rest by the fire.
I had just settled down in my favorite chair;

Move me closer to the Child.
Move me closer to the Child.

My prayer this Christmas is that each of us would have a desire to be moved closer to the one who truly is the reason for the Christmas season. I am so thankful for all of you and wish you a happy, healthy, and blessed Christmas!

Thank You Secret Santa!
Yesterday I received a HUGE box from UPS. It was my gift from my Secret Santa! You may remember me telling you all about the Secret Santa project through TJ Maxx and Marshalls that I participated in this month. It was a lot of fun to go into the store and search! It really is like a treasure hunt when you shop those two stores!
I'm not sure who my Secret Santa is because she didn't reveal herself, but I want to say a huge thank you to her if she ever reads this post! She sent me two very nice gifts! She also really took the time to wrap them nice (that always impresses me because I am such a horrible wrapper). First, I received the Mom's Family Calendar which is perfect because my calendar I use to organize life with is expiring at the end of the year. I also received this gorgeous Del Sol Beverage Dispenser! I can't wait to put it to use when everyone comes over for Christmas!
Again, I just want to say thank you to my Secret Santa! You chose some really awesome gifts! I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Melissa & Doug Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand
I love to watch kids role play and mimic the jobs and roles they see adults doing. It is so much fun to watch them learn about how our world functions. If you are familiar with Melissa and Doug toys, you will know that they are well known for their quality and uniqueness. They have a ton of options for helping your little one grow, learn, and role play the world around them!

We were sent the Melissa and Doug Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand for review. First of all, it is absolutely adorable and well proportioned for kids! The plastic bins are easy to load and unload and the height is just right for toddlers and even bigger kids. Secondly, it has the same wonderful Melissa and Doug quality that you are used to. The wooden frame feels extremely sturdy and there are no sharp corners that I have found. It is also very aesthetically pleasing. If you are like me, you worry about something this large taking over your house. No worries! It is going to look adorable in the play room, the living room, or your child's bedroom.
The Melissa and Doug Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand features a reversible awning that let's your child decide if they will be selling produce or opening up shop for some refreshments on a sunny day. There are 9 plastic bins with removable chalkboard signs so that you can keep your items separated like any great grocer would do! The sides have ample storage shelves for even more of your child's fun play foods, toys, or games.

I can see this toy also being a valuable educational tool. Use the bins to separate foods by color and label the chalkboard accordingly. You could even start practicing food groups. If you have a cash register, this could be a fun way to introduce making change and counting money. If it's a sunny day, why not open up an actual Lemonade Stand and put your child's math and social skills to work in real life?
The Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand is perfect for children ages 3 and up and does not include food. Melissa and Doug have some adorable play food you can purchase for about $19.99 to go along with this. You can purchase the Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand for about $129.99 online or at a retailer near you.
This product was provided free of charge by Melissa and Doug. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.
