NEW Medela Breastmilk Labeling and Storage System
I am definitely a huge Medela fan! I own the Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump and I am so thankful for it. When it comes to storage, I typically find that freezing my milk in ice cube trays and putting them in freezer bags is quick and saves money. I also have to say that we are MORE than blessed to have a baby sitter who comes to our home 2 1/2 days a week to watch Davis while I work. What this means is that I am able to better organize the milk in my own refrigerator so that it is ready for her. Medela has come out with a great solution to organizing and labeling milk whether you are going to freeze it or keep it on hand in the fridge.
The Medela Breastmilk Labeling and Storage System is basically a tray that has "in" and "out" arrows along with well thought out bottle caps that allow you to adjust dates and times. The lids allow you to select the day of the week as well as am, afternoon or pm. Simply insert the bottles on the "in" arrow side and remove them from the "out" arrow side. This will assure that you are wasting less milk! If you prefer to use the breast milk storage bags they will also fit in the tray. If you already own Medela bottles you can use the labeling lids with the ones you currently own. The tray will hold up to 6 of the Medela brand bottles.
The Breastmilk Labeling and Storage System retails for about $16.99 and includes the tray as well as two Medela 5 ounce bottles with 2 labeling lids. You can purchase additional labeling lids and bottles separately.
This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Stacey L!
This product was provided free of charge by Medela. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Wow, I could have used this. Now that we are reaching the end of our pumping journey though, I'm not sure how much it will help.
No BF advise, but the best pumping tip I stumbled upon was to lightly coat the inside curve of the horns with olive oil to help alleviate friction drag in the early days of pumping.

My best bf'ing advice:
Find resources to help you out. Find them while you are pregnant. If they are groups (ie: LLL), go WHILE you are pregnant so that you know the leader and feel comfortable calling her after the baby is born.
Put together a list of respected breastfeeding support websites and bookmark them in your favorite browser (I copied mine into Word and present them at baby showers for new moms).
Find a breastfeeding friendly pediatrician. Especially useful is a pediatrician that has included breastfeeding in their continuing education. If you think your pediatrician is awesome, but needs work in this area, invite them to a La Leche League meeting (or other bf-support group).

Good advice #1 - At night, the side lying position is great if your baby is like mine and takes an hour to be done. I doze off and eventually she does too and no fussing with up and down for 3 hours to put her back to sleep.
Good advice #2 - NURSING PADS!!!!! Take like 10 everywhere you go! I have them in my purse the diaper bag, the car, my work locker!
Good advice #3 - Have an extra shirt and bra for yourself just in case of a leak. Or a jacket to cover the mess.

My best advice? Don't give up. So many women get frustrated and just throw in the towel.
Take advantage of the lactation consultant at the hospital, even when you come home. Your insurance will often pay for visits after you are discharged.
Get through the first few months and the rest will be a breeze.

This would be a perfect gift for my cousin that's expecting soon.
Breastfeeding advise: If you feel low on milk supply, pump for 7 min. first then nurse. The baby will get out of you more then the pump will. Totally boost the supply.

My best advice is relax and know that each child is different. My son and daughter were completely different at nursing. Stick with it and look to other mothers for support and questions.

You have to do what works for you. If you aren't comfortable nursing in public, don't push it -- it will just stress you out. Many people out there are almost to the point of thinking you have to bf in public just to make a statement that you should be aloud to do it.

I suggest taking a breast feeding class before the arrival of baby. Also, follow the simple tips of no bink for 4 weeks and start pumping only after breast feeding is well established.

Best advice is to not give up. It can be painful during the start up but it does get better. I also loved using those gel nursing pads in the early days to help with the pain. I also used Lanolin just about everytime.

If you have a breastfeeding issue, no matter how minor, get help and advice from a LLL leader right away. It doesn't hurt to call, even for reassurance. The longer you wait, the longer and harder the road to get back. hpb157@yahoo.com

At first i didn't like to breastfeeding my baby, but just thinking how benefitial it is for him i kept it doing till he was over 1 year. Also at a round 6 month there is a cruatial point when you need support of your partner if you want to continue to breastfeeding, since at this point you feel like your life have change to breastpumping all the time. If you don't want to continue feel free to gradualy redusing the pumping.

My best advice is to be dedicated and stubborn about it to begin with. If I wasn't strongheaded, I wouldn't have got through my 1st one BF for 14 months. Now we're on baby #2 and going strong! Don't accept defeat. I went through heck and back and spent hours crying and upset, google/youtube everything if you have any questions, and join up message boards like on babycenter.com so you can have support and a way to ask questions.

I say my best advice is to make breastfeeding a weekly goal in the beginning. It's hard in the beginning and if you are thinking "I have to do this for a year" you might go crazy. Just say to yourself, I am going to breast feed this week and keep going til one of you wants to stop. Take the pressure off and enjoy it... that is after the first two weeks:)
