Dubs Goes to Washington Book for Kids {review}

This is a big year for so many reasons.  We have the Olympics as well as another Presidential election.  If you have younger children they may start to ask questions about what is going on with all of the "President talk" and there is a great book to help them learn more about America and all of her greatness.

In Dubs Goes to Washington a golden retriever named Dubs looses his tennis ball while he is on a train ride to Washington.  Dubs begins to travel around the city in search of his beloved ball and stumbles across many important national monuments.  While he is on his journey he learns about important historical facts and our national leaders.

Graham and I enjoyed reading Dubs Goes to Washington together.  He is 4.5 and is a very inquisitive child by nature.  I think this book would be a great idea if you have a child ages 3-8 who is planning a trip to Washington or who just wants to learn more about our country.  Pairing learning with the fun story of Dubs and his ball is a great way to get children hooked and wanting to read more.  The words flow and rhyme and give simple facts about each location.

You can purchase Dubs Goes to Washington: And Discovers The Greatness of America... for about $9.99 from Amazon.  It is a soft cover book with fun illustrations.
