Thank You Notes from a Childhood Favorite! Eric Carle

Thank You Notes from a Childhood Favorite! Eric Carle

Some of our most beloved books are those of Eric Carle.  Books like Brown Bear, Brown Bear and The Very Busy Spider were some of Graham's favorites when he was younger.  Eric Carle will always be a classic!

Chronicle Books is now debuting Thank You notes, Baby Announcements, Birthday Invites and more that feature the signature Eric Carle illustrations.  What a great way to celebrate and give thanks with a classic look.

For about $5.99 you will receive 8 cards and 8 envelopes.

My Baby Clothes Boutique {$25 Gift Card Giveaway}

My Baby Clothes Boutique {$25 Gift Card Giveaway}

I am so excited whenever I find a shop that personalizes things!  There is just something special about baby gifts.  I also love to have a little something special that my kids can hopefully keep forever that was from when they were a baby.

My Baby Clothes Boutique specializes in unique gifts, baby clothes, baby hats, baby headbands and more. We were sent the Personalized Lovie Mikie Monkey Security Blanket for review.  I am so happy to have this for Davis because I remember how much Graham loved his.  It was one of the first items he could hold in his hands.  I also remember how another little boy had the same exact blanket at church and they would always mix them up!  Because this one is personalized we will hopefully not run into that problem.  It is also very generously sized!  I can see Davis carrying this around for a while (which sure beats the gigantic blanket Graham is still carrying around)!  I do wish that this Lovie was a little bit softer and had hand sewn eyes rather than the plastic eyes.

There are several other Lovies to choose from on the My Baby Clothes Boutique website.  Each one of them can be personalized with your baby's name.  I think these make an excellent shower gift idea or just a special gift for your new baby to keep forever!  The personalized Lovies retail for about $36.67 with free Personalization depending on what you want.

BabyBox.com. Unique Baby Finds!

BabyBox.com. Unique Baby Finds!

One of the reasons I created this site was to share my unique finds for babies and gift ideas!  I love to be able to decorate with and offer gifts that are out of the norm!  It is so much fun to see people intrigued by personalized and well thought out gift ideas.

I wanted to be able to add some personal touches to our new little guy's room.  With Graham we went for a beautiful map art print that featured jungle animals and a gorgeous map!  We purchased an inexpensive frame from Michael's and had the perfect center piece for his room.  Davis's room had a huge wall that was completely blank above his dresser/changing center.  I knew that I was going to have to be more creative with his room because of all of the blank canvas!  When I stumbled upon BabyBox.com I was completely impressed with the variety of items they offer that are unique and out of the ordinary.  I found an adorable rocket with planets and stars wall sticker that was perfect!

The Rock It Chalkboard Wall Poster is unlike anything I have ever seen!  Not only is it perfect for our theme, but it is huge, customizable, easily removed and reapplied to the wall, and is a chalkboard!  After Davis is born I am going to have visitors leave their names on his wall with a message to him for a special touch.  My husband and I had a wonderful time placing the rocket as well as the stars and planets all over the wall.  It was a "blast" to see our creation "take off"!

I know that this will be enjoyed by both Davis and Graham as the years pass.  We can easily move it down so that they can access it when Davis is older.  I also have several planets and stars left over that I can use throughout his room.  The Rock It Chalkboard Wall Poster retails for $80. Each kit includes one chalkboard rocket with fire (4'5" tall), 20 stars ranging from 3-6", 32 planets ranging from 2-7" and 9 comets ranging from 5-10". Chalk is included.

This giveaway has ended.  Congratulations to Trixx!

Zubels. Adorable Handmade Knit Toys!

Zubels. Adorable Handmade Knit Toys!

When you think about babies, a lot of times you don't think about toys.  Well, at least that is what was true for me the first time around.  I knew I needed many things for the baby (crib, stroller, diapers, etc) but never once thought about toys!  Soon after Graham was born I knew that I had missed something... toys!

Zubels are adorable handmade knit toys that are perfect for the smallest of babies.  When you are looking for something for a small baby you always look for safety first right?  I am so impressed with the quality and construction of these and just how engaging they are to babies.  I was sent the First Mate Borris as well as the Honey the Hippo to check out.  I sent Honey the Hippo to a friend of mine whose daughter was about 3 months old.  She sent me a thank you note that said, "This is the ONLY toy that my daughter is interested in right now."  The colors and the soft texture immediately attract babies and parents can feel confident that it is a safe toy.

Most Zubels are available in a few different options: 7" rattle and 12" or 24" plush.  Zubels are available on Amazon and vary in price from about $15-$25.  These would make a great baby shower gift idea!

This product was provided free of charge by Zubels. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

"Step into Summer": Kidorable Towels for Kids!

"Step into Summer": Kidorable Towels for Kids!

You may remember seeing an adorable rain coat, boots, and umbrella featured here several months ago.  They were from Kidorable which is one of my absolute favorite places to go for unique finds for gifts!  They have a wide assortment of kids apparel and accessories that are beyond adorable!

We were sent the Kidorable Dinosaur Towel for review.  First of all, Kidorable always makes a production out of their packaged product and I love it!  The towel came folded just so (head sticking out) in its very own plastic, zippered bag.  It was wrapped in a gorgeous ribbon and was perfect for gift giving as it was.  I would not have even wrapped it!

Photobucket

We have used this towel several times as Graham's pool towel.  He loves it because it has a hood as well as a snap around the chest and neck to keep him warm.  When Graham gets out of the pool he runs for this towel and covers up.  He even reminds us to please snap it closed for him!  The Dinosaur Towel features dino eyes and teeth along the hood and has places for kids hands to go in the sleeves.  The back has a tail and dinosaur spine.  I love the feel of the towel as well.  It is soft and very absorbent.

Photobucket

The Kidorable Towels are available in sizes for infants all the way to about 6 years old and retail for $33.00.  Your child will have fun after a bath or a dip in the pool as they come to life as their favorite character!

This product was provided free of charge by Kidorable. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

LIFE Movie for Father\

LIFE Movie for Father's Day!

Who has not heard of the LIFE movie yet?  This beautiful movie is definitely a collector's item and would make an excellent addition to any Father's Day gift ideas.

We had the opportunity to check out the new version that is narrated by Oprah Winfrey.  I know that several people have given this particular version bad reviews because of the fact that her narration is different from David Attenborough, but I found the movie fascinating as well as Graham and my husband!  There is also an option to have music only instead of the narration.  LIFE was released on Blu-ray as well as DVD on June 1st.  You can check out the movie before you buy it every Sunday night on Animal Planet now through July 4th.  The video is vivid and you will most definitely learn something.  Think you have seen it all?  LIFE features 130 stories and 54 of them have never been filmed before!  It is amazing to see life and the things that are going on around us that we are often times so unaware of.

You can purchase this 4 disc movie for about $59.98 (DVD) or $69.99 (Blu-ray).  It has it's very own hardcover book that holds your discs and makes it gorgeous for storing.  I would highly recommend this series for any special occasion, or just for those of you who enjoy exploring the world God created!  You will be amazed!

Sillo Purses by Douglas Cuddle Toys

Sillo Purses by Douglas Cuddle Toys

I first saw the Sillo Purses when we are on vacation in our favorite part of the planet, Ocracoke Island, NC.  It is a quaint little island that has the most adorable shops with unique finds.  In one of my favorite shops I spotted an adorable cat purse complete with feet for little girls.  I knew my nieces would be in love!

When Douglas Toys contacted me about a review, I was delighted to see that they offered those precious purses.  I decided upon the Lily Flower Cat Sillo Purse.  When I pulled her out of the box I knew she would  be an instant hit with the nieces.  The size of the purse is perfect for smaller children.  My two nieces are 4 and 8 and carry them every where.  I love the quilted look and feel of the fabric and how well made it is.  There is also a zippered top so that your child's prized possessions will not be lost.  The Sillo Purses would make excellent gift ideas and retail for about $21.00.

There are also several other great toys offered at the Douglas Cuddle Toys website.  I think the RAD Dogs are absolutely adorable and unlike any other stuffed animal dog I have seen.  The Quilties would make a super sweet baby shower gift.  You can find products for under $10 that are perfect for just about any occasion.

Wild Creations: Hassle Free Frogs!

Wild Creations: Hassle Free Frogs!

Photobucket

There is one thing you can almost universally say about kids and that is that they love animals and other living creatures.  Your child may prefer the furry, more snugly of creatures or maybe you have one that goes for the slimy!  I can tell you that I have a boy that loves them all!

Photobucket

If you would've told me that we would have frogs in our house a few months ago I would have laughed.  We already have two cats, a bear/goat/sloth/dog, and three fish.  We have enough things to take care of not including ourselves.  When I was approached with the idea of having African Dwarf Frogs at first I hesitated, but after I read more about them I was sold.

Photobucket

Wild Creations sent us the Classic All-in-One EcoAquarium with frogs and we have really been enjoying them.  Graham enjoys the novelty of them, Matthew and I enjoy that they are hassle free.  Truly they are!  All I had to do was purchase some spring water to have on hand for when they arrived.  The frogs were shipped next day and arrived at our door step in great condition.  The instructions were extremely simple to follow and I had the EcoAquarium together within minutes (you have to wait a while before putting the frogs in).  If the EcoAquarium is properly maintained, it will pretty much take care of itself.  The living gravel works to break down particles that helps the plant.  The plant acts as a natural aerator for the frogs.  You do need to change the water every 3 months.  But, the beauty of this is that you do not have to disturb the frogs or the habitat.  Simply scoop out about 3/4 of the water from the top and replace with fresh spring water.  Have trouble remembering to feed your animals?  Good news!  The African Dwarf Frogs only need to be feed twice a week!  Their food is included in the All-in-One Kit and should last you one year!

So, for $30 you can have hassle free friends for your kids and enough food to feed them for a year (the frogs I mean)!

$10 Off
From now until July 31st you can order the Jewel Starter Kit style (retail price $39.99) and enter "BLOGGER" (case sensitive, must be all caps!) at checkout to receive $10 off!

NOVICA. One of a Kind Handmade Gifts from Around the World

NOVICA. One of a Kind Handmade Gifts from Around the World

Have you seen the NOVICA website?  I can't believe that I am just now hearing about it.  I love to find unique gift ideas and I always love to support handmade.  NOVICA is in association with National Geographic and offers artisans from around the world a place to share their talents.  You can purchase anything from home decor, earrings, bracelets, and other jewelry including sterling silver jewelry.  There is also a cute assortment of hand bags and gift ideas.

NOVICA sent over a gift code for me to use so that I could check out how the website works.  I was completely impressed with the quality of products offered and the fact that you can find something that works for just about any price range.  I found a gorgeous bracelet from an artisan in Bali that is perfect for my mother's birthday.  It actually arrived in the mail today in a beautiful package as well as a gift message from us!  I was impressed that the expedited shipping for this was only $5.95!

One of my co-workers has also purchased items from NOVICA and told me that she has been thoroughly impressed with what is offered and the service in general.  All of the artisans are free trade and extremely talented.  If you can't travel to the particular country, this is the next best thing for purchasing gifts!  NOVICA is definitely a place to check out when you are looking for something unique and special.  I can guarantee you will not be buying a repeat of something someone already has.  This is a great idea with Father's Day right around the corner as well.

A gift card was provided free of charge by NOVICA. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Vivabox. All-in-One Gift for Mother\

Vivabox. All-in-One Gift for Mother's Day! {20% off code}

Another great gift idea this Mother's Day is Vivabox!  This is a one stop shop that puts together a wonderful package that you can choose.

I was sent the "Photo Art" Vivabox for review.  What I am impressed with the most is how much the Vivabox costs.  The Photo Art Vivabox retails for $84.95 and you receive a Gorilla Pod as well as a 16" x 20" gallery wrapped canvas of one of your photos!  I know that to have a gallery wrapped canvas that size from a photographer could easily cost you $100 or more.  The Gorilla Pod by itself usually retails for about $21.95.  So, together, you have saved!

How it Works
Just head over to the VivaboxUSA.com site and check out the different options for purchase.  If you decide on the Photo Art Vivabox your gift recipient will receive the Gorilla Pod as well as instructions in a cute box.  Once your recipient has taken the perfect photo they hop back onto the Vivabox website and plug in their redemption code.  For the Photo Art redemption, you need to make sure you are ready with a photo because I didn't see a way to come back to it later.  I actually had to end my session because I wasn't ready and then had to contact customer service to get my code renewed.  Also, if you are using the Photo Art Vivabox you need to make sure you have a high quality camera and have the settings correct.  Because the canvas art is so big, it needs to be a quality photo.

You can edit the photo once inside the Vivabox redemption area.  It allows you to see how your finished product will look even after it has been gallery wrapped (important to keep in mind when you are cropping your photo).  5-7 days later you should receive your finished product!

I have not received my finished canvas at this point because I am still working on the perfect picture (maybe this particular Vivabox isn't the best idea for a perfectionist)!  Overall, I have been pleasantly surprised by the value and how the Vivabox is so nicely put together.  I would definitely recommend this to family and friends who were stumped for ideas on gifts.  Prices start at $29.95  and gift ideas are abundant!

Use code "mom2010" to receive 20% off your order from now until Mother's Day.

This product was provided free of charge by Vivabox. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

London Bridge Children. Adorable Art for Kids.

London Bridge Children. Adorable Art for Kids.

I think it is so sweet to have personalized touches in your child's room or nursery.  I know when Graham was first born we hung a single "G" over his crib which looked so sweet with the rest of his theme.  A mother and artist, Lori, has been creating art work inspired by her own 4 children that is sweet and simple.

London Bridge Children offers several different themes for children's wall art.  I loved browsing through her collection for boys.  We decided on the "Gone Fishing" wall art and had Graham's named put on the tackle box.  It is absolutely adorable and completely appeals to the energy that we live among in the south.  Fishing is such a huge part of the Spring and Summer around here for so many people, especially my family.  If you have a little girl I think the "Bath Time" art would be gorgeous in her bathroom!

The best part of London Bridge Children art work is the fact that you can have any of it personalized with initials or names.  This will be a special keepsake that can be shared for years to come.  You can choose from prints or canvas paintings that range in price from $18-$108.00.  These would be a fantastic gift idea!

An 8x10 art print was provided free of charge by London Bridge Children. These are my honest opinions on the product. I do not post reviews on products I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Make Your Own Brown Sugar Scrub!

Make Your Own Brown Sugar Scrub!

Christmas is over, but there may still be a few people on your list that you haven't seen yet.  Maybe you are like me and you like to have a few back up gifts on hand just in case someone shows up unexpectedly.  If you are an avid Go Graham Go reader you already know that I like to find great deals or make my own things (I love crafts)!  When C&H Sugar contacted me about their great gift idea website and asked me to try it out I was thrilled!  They have some cute ideas and who doesn't love sugar?  Besides, with the winter weather around here, we all have our fair share of dry skin.

I thought the Sugar Scrub was a great idea for a cheap, yet cute gift.  Most of the materials you will probably already have on hand for this project which is a huge bonus!  I adjusted this recipe a little in order to make it a bit more cost effective.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup of ground oatmeal (use a blender)
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil (calls for 1/4 cup of almond oil, but olive oil is more readily available and cheaper.  It is also great for your skin)
  • 1 tsp of Vanilla extract
  • Small containers with lids and ribbons for decoration
Directions:

Combine all ingredients using a spatula in a large bowl until well blended. Mix should have a paste like texture. If it is too dry add more oil a few drops at a time. Conversely, if it is too oily add more dry ingredients until you reach the desired consistency. Keep stored in tightly sealed jars. May need to mix before use if ingredients settle.

When you are finished you can use these printable gift tags from C&H Sugar made especially for the Sugar Scrubs or print your own like I did.

A $20 gift card was provided by C&H Sugar to cover my expenses on this project. These are my honest opinions. I do not post reviews on anything I can not stand behind. Please see my Terms of Use for more info.

Classic Toys with Babalu.

Classic Toys with Babalu.

My friends and I are constantly comparing notes and sharing ideas when it comes to most anything, but especially when it comes to gift ideas! There are seas of gifts out there and not enough time in the day to sort through it all. I normally go towards something that is solid, unique, and going to appeal to a child for a long time. When I was introduced to Babalu I knew I had to share them with you because they have classic toys with integrity.

We were sent the ABC Building Blocks set by WJ Fantasy (a company that Babalu recently acquired) to review from their collection. Graham plays with these pretty much every day. They are great because they nest and can be put away easily! The illustrations by Sarah Buell Dowling are vivid and catch your eye, making it fun to learn and play. Each letter of the alphabet is featured along with an identifying picture ("T" is for "Train"). Graham uses these traditionally, as stacking blocks, but I also find him using them to store things and as drum sets! Because they are varied in size they make a great little drum set for your creative one. He also finds a lot of joy in knocking them down once he has stacked them to the top (must be a boy thing). The ABC Building Blocks retail for about $17.95.

babalublocks

Babalu also features some fun Felt Story Boards that can be great for play and learning alike. There are 6 different FeltTales to choose from so you are sure to find one that fits with your child perfectly. I've always been a fan of felt story boards because they really let your child's imagination soar! They can enter a new world and make up their own stories to go with the felt characters. FeltTales retail for about $19.99.

What great Christmas gift ideas, especially for the kid who has everything! You can purchase WJ Fantasy toys from Amazon or Kazoo Toys. The Babalu FeltTales can be found at specialty stores nationwide as well as Amazon and Round Table Toys.

Pink Bears for a Cause and More at Hatley! GIVEAWAY!

Pink Bears for a Cause and More at Hatley! GIVEAWAY!

Another unique find alert! Have you seen Hatley yet? I had honestly never heard of them until a few weeks ago! This company is family started and owned. It originally started with Alice Oldland who put paint to paper and created beautiful artwork. This turned into different pieces which have now transitioned into clothing, accessories, and more!

Hatley is also giving back to Breast Cancer research this month with their Pink Bears collection! We were sent the Pink Bears PJ Pants and tank top as a part of this promotion. 20% of all of October's Pink Bears web sales will be donated towards Breast Cancer research! What an adorable gift idea that supports such a wonderful cause. There are so many items to choose from in the Pink Bear collection! You can find items for yourself, a friend, or even your daughter. The pj's are super comfy and very cute. I was sent a size medium in both the pants and top and they seem to fit pretty true to size (I normally wear mediums or size 6/8). The adorable Pink Bears Infant footed coverall was featured in Oprah's O Magazine this month as well!

Hatley

We were also sent the boys "Pasture Bedtime" pj's for Graham. I love the adorable phrase and the cute animal and tractor prints on the pants. Again, they run true to size. Graham was sent a 3T and it is big on him (which is what I wanted because fitted pj's can run small). The fabric is comfortable and all of the choices are adorable and unique! Graham constantly asks for his "tractor" jammies now.

Honestly, you are sure to find the perfect gift in the Hately store. I could browse around in there for days! I love the "Eat Like a Pig" kids dish set as well as the "Trailing a Little Behind" coverall and cap set that features a moose silhouette for infants. All of the prints are gorgeous and I love knowing that my money will be going to a company that truly believes in family!
