Mumoocie | Children's Body Pillow with Voice Recorder

When transitioning your child into a big bed, it can leave your little one feeling more insecure because of the change in size. Unless you are moving your child into a toddler bed, they are dramatically changing what they sleep in! The Mumoocie pillow is a body pillow with your child in mind that can help ease the fear of a big bed. This one of a kind body pillow was created by a mom looking for a solution to her daughter's fear of the monsters under the bed.

We were sent the Mumoocie made with memory foam. There are a few things about this particular body pillow that sets it apart from others. First of all, it has a unique design that is intended to help put you or your child in the most comfortable position. It is designed to mimic spooning. Secondly, its outer cover is made from very soft designer fleece that is created to hold the scent of whomever is holding it. You can sleep with the pillow the night before giving it to your child so that they can be comforted with the smell of you close by. Finally, Mumoocie has a voice recording device built in. You can record your child a sweet message for them to listen to when they need it! This is also a great idea for kids who frequently become home sick on trips. Also an excellent idea if you are struggling with getting your child out of your bed.

Graham likes to squeeze the pillow to hear the message I recorded for him. This voice recorder is easily accessible so that you can change the message as often as you like. Once Graham falls asleep at night we place the Mumoocie behind him. It seems to keep him sleeping snuggly! If your child is potty training, never fear! The Mumoocie outer cover is washable!

The Mumoocie made from memory foam retails for $99.77 and the fiber filled retails for $79.77. Use coupon code: graham to receive 15% off your order!

Help Your Child Sleep with Glo E Bear!

Help Your Child Sleep with Glo E Bear!

If you are going to talk about big kid rooms, you have to talk about transitioning from a crib to a big kid bed! For some kids this can be a tough transition. Think about it. The crib offers a certain feeling of protection. They are completely enclosed and it is a small space. Graham went from a crib straight to a full size bed so it was a big change! It can be helpful to offer something that can ease a child's nervousness. Sometimes it can be a blanket, or how about Glo E Bear?

Graham loves Glo E Bear! This fluffy little guy is super soft and has 5 different light shows! We were sent the 16 inch white Glo E bear right before we moved Graham into his full sized bed. When we put him in bed at night he immediately reaches over and turns on Glo E bear. He even uses it as a flashlight sometimes to find a stray Hot Wheels car in the bed!

The soft glow that comes from Glo E Bear is very relaxing. It fades through each new color creating a dramatic show. Just press Glo E Bear's paw to change through all 5 shows.

See Glo E Bear in Action:

I would definitely recommend Glo E Bear to any parent who has a child that is having a tough time transitioning or is just afraid of the dark in general. This would be a great gift for that child who is making the sometimes tough transition from crib to bed!

Grobag Egg: Keep Baby\

Grobag Egg: Keep Baby's Room at a Safe Temperature

When I was pregnant, my husband and I read all the books and attended all the classes. I remember reading all the horror stories about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and all the speculation behind what causes it. One of the speculations was room temperature. They say that room temperature should be between 61-67 degrees F to help reduce the risk.

Once we brought Graham home I would closely monitor the temperature on the thermostat, but never felt completely confident because every room in the house always felt different temperature wise. I wish I would have been introduced to the Grobag Egg back then!

The Grobag Egg by Keen Distribution is an innovative designed digital room thermometer. This clever device actually changes colors to alert you of your baby's safety. When the Grobag Egg turns blue you know that the temperature is too cold. Yellow is the recommended temperature, orange is warm, and red of course means too hot! A frowny face even shows up if the Grobag Egg Thermometer turns red.

This easy to use digital thermometer has such a soft glow that it can also act as a night light. We use this in Graham's room for that purpose now. I am impressed with the fact that this will tell you the true room temperature where your whole house thermostat may be off. You can rest easier knowing that you have a more accurate reading. The Grobag Egg comes with an AC adapter so that you do not have to worry with batteries.

Priced at $29.99, this would make an excellent shower gift!

Help Children Sleep better: My Tot Clock

Help Children Sleep better: My Tot Clock

We have been blessed with a son who is a pretty great sleeper. We established some good habits when he was just a baby that have followed him into his toddler hood. There are a few tricks that we still use. One of those is "white noise" in the background. The rest are the trusty standbys like blankie and his favorite friend otter. He generally will tell you when he needs a nap and usually sleeps through the night.

I am not naive and I understand that there are plenty of kids who are just not that great at the whole sleeping thing. I recently tried out the My Tot Clock and think it is a great option for those kids who are struggling! This wonderful little device is not just a clock but a night light, a story teller, and timer.

Here are the Features:
  • Illuminates 5 different colors: Blue= Bed Time, Yellow=Wake Time, Light Blue= Nap Time, Green= Encouragement, Red= Time Out
  • Plays bedtime stories, lullabies, wake music and white noise
  • Changeable face plates to match your child's style
  • Carrying handle for on the go
  • AC Adapter so that you don't run up batteries
  • Different volume levels
Something that is very beneficial about the My Tot Clock is the fact that you can program in your routine schedule so that everything happens automatically. Never fear, if life happens there are override buttons! All lullabies automatically shut off after 30 minutes of playing and the white noise can play all night if you would like! You can program how long you would like time outs and also the encouragement time (potty time or reading). You can even adjust the levels of illumination on the light feature. Stories are told through the Tot Clock Treasures cartridges. One cartridge is included with your My Tot Clock and additional cartridges are available online.

This is also a great idea for kids who wake up too early! You can set the clock to the time they should be getting out of bed and it will stay blue (bed time) until the timer goes off and plays some happy music and turns yellow (wake time). What a great way to try to teach your children when to wake up and when to stay in bed!

My suggestion would be to start using the My Tot Clock earlier than 2 just to get the baby used to the idea. Because Graham already had a well established bed time routine, the music on the bed time feature was distracting to him. So, we use the My Tot Clock for time outs, to listen to stories and I plan on using it for potty training as well (set the Encouragement timer for how long you would like them to sit).

You can purchase the My Tot Clock for $49.95.

Natural Creation: Sweet Baby Massage Oil and Coupon Code

Natural Creation: Sweet Baby Massage Oil and Coupon Code

When I came across Natural Creation while surfing for organic baby products I knew I had to try them out! This Victoria based company offers products that are ALL hand made in small batches to ensure quality and freshness! The products are also vegan. The aromatherapy products are carefully made from 100% pure herbs, base oils, and essential oils and are free of synthetic perfumes, colors, and preservatives!

Graham has sensitive skin so I try to be extremely careful about the products I use on him. Any product that has direct contact (lotion, oils, creams, etc.) I have to be careful about. Not to mention that he has this bad habit of licking lotion off of my hands as I am putting it on! He even tries to eat it out of the bottles! Eeeww!

I had the opportunity to try out the Sweet Baby Massage Oil and it is fantastic! Not only does it smell great, but it feels wonderful and actually helps soothe! We had just arrived home from our 5 hour trip out of town. Graham was not winding down, and then I remembered the oil. I used it after a nice warm bath. Graham was literally drifting off as I was rubbing him down with this wonderful oil! Also, I found a benefit that was not included in the description, as I was massaging Graham, my sinuses were opening up from the wonderful aroma! I would say that this could be useful when your child has a chest cold as well! "Its soothing blend of essential oils have been known to ease colic when massaged gently over the abdomen, and toothache when added to a relaxing bath."

I also had the opportunity to try out the Cheeky Baby Bum Balm which smells absolutely wonderful and was just the right consistency (not thick or pasty)! "This Balm is soothing and helps prevent, and reduce diaper rash."

Natural Creation not only carries the wonderful products for babies, but also wonderful products for pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and something for everyone! The founders, Chelsea and Emily, are extremely talented people that even offer doula services in the Victoria area!

Natural Creation has offered Go Graham Go readers a 15% off coupon code: X8YT (expires 5/1/09).

Sleep Sheep

Sleep Sheep

Thank you, thank you, thank you Cloud B and mom! My mother picked this up for us before Graham was born. I thought, "Oh how sweet..." after he was born I tought, "Oh how AMAZING!" Graham still sleeps with this sound making sheep! I think we will have to purchase another one when we decide to have another child because Graham will STILL be using it. This fuzzy farm animal has 4 soothing options for your baby to listen to (ocean waves, spring showers, harmonious whale, and heart beat). It is set on a 23 minute timer so you do not have to worry about it running down. We have only replaced the batteries once and we have been using it for naps and bedtime since April 2007.

The Happiest Baby on the Block

The Happiest Baby on the Block

"The Happiest Baby on the Block" was a gift given to me by a co-worker. I suggest this to every new mom and mom to be. The book is an easy read and the techniques truly work! I picked a copy up from www.half.com for next to nothing. This also makes an excellent gift! I understand that there are also DVD's and soothing CD's to go along with this. I can not comment on those, but based on the book, I would say they would be worth a try.

Swaddle Me

Swaddle Me

This was another life saver when we brought Graham home from the hospital. My husband called the nurses in the hospital "ninja swaddlers" because they were so skilled and quick! We never mastered the art of "true" swaddling. I was glad I had this swaddler. It is called a Swaddle Me and it is by kiddopotamus. We purchased ours from Babies R Us. Graham literally used this until he was 5 months old! It is a breeze to use and holds them pretty securely. If your baby is really tiny you might need to wrap them in an extra blanket and then put this over to make it fit more snug. I give these out as gifts all the time I believe in them so much!
